First, two San Benito women tell the story of the now dwindling black community in the Rio Grande Valley. With the help of Lonnie Davis, a former student of the Callandret school where the museum now resides, they are keeping history alive. Then, nearly 60-year-old Barn Door Steakhouse’s fourth and longest owner, ex Airforce cook Roy Gilean, is maintaining the legendary restaurant’s status of good food and down-to-earth people. Finally, astronomy enthusiast and Marathon Motel and RV park owner Danny Self offers guests to Marathon a unique and wonderous view of the night sky.
